Our response to colour is individual and not always fully understood, but can nonetheless change our mood. Colour theories (cultural) are not enough, one must also follow intuition. The landscape is also universal and yet particular to any group of people. It too can remind us of a variety of ideas, memories and thoughts. Paintings may have layers like the landscape, fragments revealing the past ; lines, real or imagined, that measure or record movement; and colour that expresses internal or external perceptions. I paint to discover, reveal and explore and trust the observer may do the same.
